I've just sold a car and the new owner lives in North East Italy and is looking for the car to be taken out in a covered transporter during last week of August or September.

Any recommended companies, or anyone collecting a car from Italy going over with a empty coveted trailer?

Long shot I know but probably easier organising from UK than Italy.

To get a range of quotes try:

https://www.shiply.com/vehicle-delivery/

I used them to get what sounded a quite reasonable quote for shipping to Switzerland but in the end decided to drive instead.

How did you get on? What was the final cost? I'm considering transporting my car to Italy (and back) next year.

You could try Speedbird Automotive, near Maidenhead I think. I've never had call to use them myself but I know the owner of the business and he's sound.

In the end I left it to the buyer to make all the arrangements with a company in Germany I believe who were bringing a car to England.

Quotes ranged up to £2500 each way.
