Many of you probably haven't heard of Burghfield, it's a pair of villages just SW of Reading. On June 25th there is a box cart race down the hill between the 2 villages. The public road will be shut and there's bars and activities.

Still time to sign up if you want to race.

I'm not connected in any way, apart from living there!

Ooh, noted in the diary. Could be a good day out with my little boy on his birthday 😊

How's everyone coping without water? Fortunately my family left for Devon this morning, so it's just me and the mutt! Not sure who smells worse...

I'm at work, but there's free water down at mortimer recreation ground supposedly!

Yep - picked some up.

Thames Water say they've fixed the issue, but I suspect it will still be a while before we have water again.

Grew up in Burghfield. Heading back to Mortimer this weekend for the first time in years!

"My world does not end within these four walls, Slough’s a big place. And when I’ve finished with Slough, there’s Reading, Aldershot, Bracknell, you know I’ve got to-Didcot, Yateley. You know. My-Winnersh, Taplow. Because I am my own boss, I can. Burghfield." - Ricky Gervais

Probably one of the highlights of the villages history.

Don't often go there. The rising sun used to be the worst of them all!

Apparently tickets are required! Not sure if you can get them on the day.

They're available in the fruit/veg shop, Parkers or https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/burghfieldboxkart (there's a small booking fee online).
