Was aiming to meet a mate at the Brooklands Auction this morning.

Got on the M3 at J4 and approaching J3 saw signs saying no access to M25 North, so a diversion was posted to leave M3 at J3.

Fine I thought, I want M25 South - then I got there and found the whole junction was closed! Fcensoredts! If only they had said J2 was closed I would have got off at J3 and gone through Windlesham or Chobham, whatever!

The "official" diversion for M25 Southbound was to stay on the M3 to Sunbury Cross then come back - and even before 10 am on a Saturday that was a total mess!

M3 "Scensoredt" motorway is posted as being completed in Summer 2017 - given how long I have seen dates appear for a few weeks before reality took some sort of grip I'm thinking it is a typo - 3017 seems possibly more achievable, barring any sort of disaster!

It's like living in the 4th world!

I quite enjoyed the idiocy of having the M3 and the A3 both shut overnight for works last week I think it was?

When I went past at 3:30 ish yesterday going home, there was literally no one working there either. No wonder it is taking a whole weekend just to lay a bit of tarmac.

I ignored the official diversions when I was heading to work (towards the M1) and went along the A30 yesterday and it was fine

Wednesday night driving home from London, M3 was shut, and M4 was down to 1 lane at 3 locations before Reading! This was at 10pm ffs.

The roads are a nightmare around that area.
I really don't know what the planners were thinking.

Even in Newbury it's been awful for years with the road works on the a339 and closure of a bypass bridge.

Roads signing and info are absolute ste. The tailback on the M3 to get of at J1 because some clot decides telling drivers in advance what is happening was about two mile long.
The southbound J3 signs are about the size of a postcard and stuffed the other side of that totally grey hard wall that disappears from view at night.how there hasnt been more accidents of drivers side swiping it beggars belief.
The times we have come south down the M3 to find it closed at the M25 jnctn. It is beyond the single celled HA idiot to put up advance notices along the A316 so i can zip off the 316 and go via the M4????

Andto think these cretins get paid for this.

Care in the community is not working here!!!!!

Thanks for your input - I was starting to wonder if it was just me!

Need to get from J4 M3 to the A3 Northbound tomorrow - I think I may just stay on the A331 until the A31, then onto the A3 (just in case)!

That caught me out on Saturday too. The yellow road sign gave the impression that M3 to M25 South was open as did the app on my phone so I stayed on the M3. Just like you I then had to sit in about 3 miles of stationary traffic at Sunbury, not helped by people trying to barge in. I went straight on up to Hampton and went home that way but it was a nightmare. The hogs back was solid, so was Chobham etc...., so not many options.

An additional consequence of this poor traffic management is the A30 road surface in Camberley is getting years worth of traffic in months and degrading quickly. The section in front of RMCS, Sandhurst, is appalling and I suspect dangerous for cyclists. The recent work at the Tesco roundabout just added to the misery for users

This is now well past being acceptable.

I had to go from Sandhurst to Worcester Park on Monday around 14.00 so I used the A331, A31 and A3 - no problems!

But the F*cktards got me again on the way home. mad

Down the A3 Southbound - overhead gantries around Cobham told me at about 20.20 that Fleet services weren't open for HGVs - as they have done for weeks FFS (it burnt down after all)! Signs used to mention M3 closures, but seemingly no longer!

So I joined the M25 and got onto the M3 slip-road only to find the Southbound entry shut, so I had another enforced trip to Sunbury Cross and back when with a bit of signage I could have gone to J13 and used the A30!furious Or just stayed on the A3 and used the A331 and A31 again!

Do those F*ckwit politicians REALLY want to improve air quality, or are they happier collecting the duty + VAT I pay on my petrol?

Only just got back to M25 at J12 before they shut the M3 altogether - I overtook the truck with the guy putting out cones, just lucky I wasn't travelling a bit slower! furious

This 3 year plus "recreation" of the M3 as a S**T motorway is turning into a total nightmare for anyone using it - just to make some "lay-bys" and put up loads of cameras. Why not get real and just build another lane? In about 10 years that will have to happen anyway - the M25 proved that!

I would not tire of punching the faces of those tts who dont give a monkeys fk about putting up advance informantion
It is not beyond the ability of a bloody amoeba to get temp signs up at juctions before the M£ commences to say it will be shut at the M25 interchange. or put it on the OH gantries ( are there any along the A316?) That way i can dive of and get over to the M4 to get home. not do a involuntar tour of the junctions of Surrey.
The best one is where the M£ is shut and to get home i have to head south to the Chobham turnoff, back on anf head north to the A30 junction, puts another 20mins to the journey. A bit of forethought would reduce that to 5min extra

Still what do i know i only use the bloody road

I needed to get to Crawley today for the Worth 7s for about 12:30 ko
Left Horsell at 11:00 head toward either Send or Guildford for A3 or if M25 has issues cut across toward Dorking.
No chance - road diversions and traffic chaos in Woking, cant got through to Send or A320 to Guildford no advance warning signage or suitable diversions
wkers had loads of road closed for some poxy half marathon FFS selfish s
as if there is not enough road problems in the area without this crap.
Plenty of places to run yer stoopid marathon like the canal towpath or 50 laps of the local park that does not screw up the road network - even the busses not allowed through.
Absolute bks who ever planned that should be beaten with a training shoe ...

Guys,

Purchase a sucker cup for your windscreen. And download WAZE from Apple/Android stores. Even if the planners fk up (like they seem to have done here for their own selfish gains), this app will report back to you in real time any traffic buildup and reroute you. It's hands down 10x better than any other sat nav system and WILL divert you round this sh!t.

Don't trust what the overhead gantries and signs tell you!!!

Thanks for that, but I'm not sure how that is likely to be of any use to those of us on the M3!?

Or do you go to LHR in a chopper? (Or maybe as a chopper?)

They are doing all three of these at the same time quite regularly at the moment. It's a nightmare - wouldn't want to live anywhere near the A30.

You are so right - sadly living in Sandhurst the M3 and A30 are both less than 2 miles away. furious It has been a fcensoredg nightmare for the best part of 3 years!

Just for added frustration, I had to go to Sutton last Friday afternoon. Decided M25 on a Friday afternoon was a bad idea, so used A331, A31 and A3. All good until I got to Burpham and joined the queue! Left at Ripley and used the A246 and A24 - 35 mile trip only took 3 hours.

Maybe I need to go back to a motorbike!

As a daily commuter on the m3 my experience is that in the mornings it's been better during the works.

Well at least one aspect has improved - maybe it will be a bit better when they actually finish it! (Not holding my breath though)!

I go the same old cr*p again on Wednesday night though! On the A3 Southbound around 20.20, approaching M25 junction 10 overhead still telling me Fleet Services have no HGV parking! So I get on the M25 heading for the M3 and no signs telling me the M3 is shut from J2 to J4 until AFTER I have gone past J11 (where I would have left) so I end up going to J13 and having to endure the A30 (again). furious Especially as when I went over the M3 it had Southbound traffic on it!

If the closure had been signed on the A3 I would have stayed on that and used the A31 and A331 FFS!

I think I need to forget about the M3 altogether - Fcensoredg thing is shut more often than it is open!

No hgv parking at services is because they burnt down, not due to the works.
