Beware the tyre garage!
Discussion
Just a word of warning, I recently had 2 new tyres on my van at a 'tyre specialist' in Guildford who I won't name here ( pm me if you want to know). The very helpful guy in the garage told me to order online when I make the appointment and it would be cheaper.
Just had first mot done on van and had to change them again as they are an mot failure ( not commercial). The company have admitted that although they knew they were the wrong ones they fitted them anyway as I ordered them online and it was my responsibility to order the correct ones!
Tell that to the judge when I have a blowout on the motorway🚑

I'm not following. Apologies if this comes across badly, it is not intended to. You ordered tyres and asked them to fit them? What was wrong with the tyres that made them an MOT fail? You were driving around on them for a while before the MOT and didn't notice?
I always order online and check the tyres myself before they are fitted, mostly because I have trust issues with the human race generally...

I ordered the tyres via the companies own website and made an appointment for them to be fitted. The website asked for size, radius, speed etc so I ordered the same as was on the original but it didn't ask for type of vehicle. I didn't realise that there was a difference between normal tyres and commercial. They failed not as they were not commercial, ie wrong tyres for vehicle

hyundai Iload, Dunlop grand trek at3 215/70 r16, can't recall the website giving an option for reg number, assumed the company would have advised be if they were wrong?
Could have been the load rating or ply of tyre.Have not seen a tyre with "Commercial" stamped on it.
But to be fair have where ever possible use Martins Tyre however for my HGV Tyre work
and supply I use Staysure Tyre in Arborfield and these guys have done out of hours call out
and been very helpful.
I think it's a ply rating but I could be wrong, I'm going down the road that if I had a blowout and they knowingly fitting the wrong tyre they would be responsible regardless of the t's and c's on their website. Just to be clear I'm not after compensation but an apology would be nice. A bit worried if companies are fitting tyres knowing they are incorrect. Thanks for the recommendations I'll take that on board when I need more.
