It is a horrible junction - I always assume there's a high chance of a car diving out of Easthampstead Road when ever I go that way and have always taken it cautiously. I guess they were hoping the speed limit drop and cutting back some of the foliage might help. A few years back I even stopped coming along Easthampstead Road towards that junction in the Lotus as the low car + foliage just made it always feel a little too risky pulling out.

It's a bloody awful junction, I commute through it by motorcycle a few times a week and am always wary of somebody pulling out on me. It's OK at quiet times but horrendous during rush hour. Maybe a candidate for part-time lights?
Maybe, but BFBC don't do part-time lights (as you will know if you use the 7 lights junction - formerly known as Twin-Bridges)! Mr Tidy said:

Go on the A3095 south to Crowthorne and at the Birch Hill Roundabout ( 2nd roundabout from the Twin Bridges) they are peak hour only AM and PM. there have been some spectacular near misses there esp from car coming on from the Birch hill direction anbd not seeing the red so the raffic coming up from Crowthorne get an chance!! Thinking they have right of way ,it does get quite interesting. Likewise the ones oming up fro Crowthorne and seeing the roundabout is clear just ignoring they have a red!!!

I think that is the exception to the rule though!Mind you even when they are working you have plenty of potential for an accident given the general standard of driving in the area!
I used to work in Bracknell, so coming from Sandhurst on the A3095 I would get to that roundabout (eventually!) and often use the middle lane to head for the town staying on the A3095, so 2nd exit! It wasn't unusual for someone in the left-hand lane to head for the 3rd exit!

I came out of Bracknell heading for Crowthorne that way earlier today and there is now a 40 limit posted as you head for that junction, then a 30 limit posted and painted on the road ahead of the "S" bend before the junction - so maybe someone in BFBC has actually been paying attention!Gassing Station | Thames Valley & Surrey | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
