Unmarked vehicles on Blue Lights this morning on the M4

What the hell was going on this morning? Never seen so many unmarked vehicles on blue lights!
Got undertaken on the hard shoulder on the A329 by a Black Fiesta ST, on blues.
Got on the M4, travelling eastbound a few minutes later, Blue 1 series, with a white van immediately behind it, and a couple of minutes later a Skodia Estate, and a couple of minutes later a Nissan Navara, all on blues.

Funny that we drove the m4 on Sunday coming back from family in Wales and going towards Heathrow we seen so many unmarked cars and vans my oh thought there was an attack happening!

We saw an unmarked Volvo estate with blue lights this morning on the A322 (near KFC) at around 8:40am, heading in the M4 direction. Wonder if that was going to the same incident.
Edit - having read the link, I was in work by 9am and I look out over towards the bus station - can't say I saw/heard any commotion.
