/Start Rant

How to screw up commuter traffic into Slough. Put roadworks on both main roads into slough and across junction 7 and 6 of the M4.

What kind of ridiculous planning is that. It took me an hour to go along the road from Windsor to Slough on Monday.

Ridiculous

If you are coming from Windsor to Slough I would suggest taking the road through the great park and then going through Windsor town centre into Datchet then the back end of Slough.
Its longer on paper but no traffic lights.

I got stuck in the same thing on Monday on my Route from Old Windsor to Reading via the M4. While it's bad, it hasn't been quite as bad the rest of the week. On Tuesday, keen not to get stuck in the same queue I decided to head to the M25 J13 and then get on the M4 from there. That took all of 15 minutes to get to the same M4 roundabout vs approximately an hour on the Windsor to Slough M4 junction.

From Bracknell I would 100% agree with the suggestion given above by Phil.

It was hideous again this morning. I usually aim to be on the M4 by 7.50, but today it must have been a good 25 minutes later.

Its shocking. On a lighter note, has anyone seen the man dressed as a lion advertising the local car wash at three tuns junction in Slough every-night on the commute? Always makes me chuckle as he gives me a thumbs up or high-five as I trickle past at a glacial pace.

I feel your pain - I used to commute from Sandhurst to Windsor, then from Binfield to Windsor and it has always been painful!

Latterly I was going from Sandhurst to Bracknell/Windsor but either was pretty tedious!

BFBC seem determined to wreck the life of any commuter (so no incentive for social mobility in that sh*thole)!

Still now I don't care, as although I live in that centre of misery I don't have to go to work every (any) day!

So I hope you can cope, well at least until you no longer have to! I wouldn't think of Slough as a long term option - it isn't exactly somewhere anyone would aspire to getting!

Have you ever managed to make a post in this forum without slating Bracknell, I really do not see why you have such a hatred of it, there is far worse places around than that.
