Anyone know what's happening with this now?
I passed it a month or so back when I had breakfast at the Brickmakers, and there appeared to be a JCB digging up the drive (the heated marble drive from what I remember?) Seems like someone must be chucking a load of money at a residence that has already had a huge amount of cash splashed on it.

You want to see the saga with the former BOC building just up the road.
Developer wants to turn it into high end apartments SHBC turn it down as residents object - wtf.
Various options put forward still the nimby's say no.

So the owners (Linde) strip out the place so its of no commercial rateable value / no council tax
as it cant be used. Security guard facility on site only.

So SHBC get no or very little revenue from it.

Well in that case turn back into a full company HQ with 900 + cars in and out at peak times plus deliveries etc etc and the major refit with construction traffic etc etc
Which cannot be opposed as its established use.

These planning numpties really need to get a grip and look at the future and not what a bunch of
loosers want, local residents all have their nice places so fk anyone else. Muppets.

This - there were plans for a serious overhaul of the property and grounds including removal of pools and landscaping to various areas, but that was scrapped and now changes mostly to the main house is painting over the wood panelling to the ground floor, covering over the second floor hole in the atrium, and turning the second floor pool into an enclosed winter garden area.
