Hi all,

Trying to plan a short break of 4 days - 1 week at the start of the School summer hols next year.
My Daughter (9 years old), loved LEGOLAND last year so wouldn't mind spending a couple of days there again. Last time we stayed 3 nights in a hotel nearby but would prefer something different this time.

Ideally would like;
Pool
2x Bedrooms
Play area

I've had a look online but can't seem to find much, hopefully you guys can help with some recommendations?

Travelling from Great Yarmouth area so don't want to go too much further than Windsor.
Looked at Centerparcs and although we would all love it, can't afford the £1500 / week price tag...unless someone has a 50% discount code! biggrin

Thanks.

I live relatively locally and can't think of anywhere really. Most people going to Legoland usually end up in an LHR hotel. May get something suitable if you consider going out to Hampshire / Berkshire, but I can't think of anywhere in the Windsor area really.

Can tell you aren't local.

You can stay at the Legoland Hotel or maybe look at Beaumont Estate. Nothing especially cheap around here as it's within reach of Heathrow.

There's nothing like that around here that I can think of. I'm going to move this to the TV&S forum, as you'll get better answers. But that said, nothing springs to mind at all.

Thank guys, and appreciate the move.

LEGOLAND hotel is full on the dates I wanted, and anyway that would limit our holiday to that site more or less.

Was really after a lodge or even caravan (not my favourite), so may look closer to home and just go there for the day.

If you're prepared to go over to the other side of the M4 (to Slough!) there's the Copthorne - easy run over to Legoland, depending on what time you travel!

Going the other way, there's this in Ascot.

Or come and join us over in Bracknell at the Hilton.

There's tons of hotels in the area - but anything chalet-type or caravan park'esque are non-existent (that I'm aware of).

The only camping/chalet type place I know of is at California Park, but looking at their website I don't think there's a pool.

There is a kiddies paddling pool. We take our grandson there occasionally for a run around. There's very nice restaurant which is good for breakfast and a huge lake too but no proper swimming pool.

OP, I don't think you will meet your brief in this area as there really isn't anything in the way of holiday parks etc, there are a few Caravan club sites but nothing with a pool, however;

The Hilton in Bracknell is not too bad and has a pool;

http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/united-kingdom/hi...

As does the Coppid Beech (but it is in dire need of a re-furb);

http://www.coppidbeech.com/

The Hilton is a 2 min drive or 10 mins walk from an indoor water-park which has recently been refurbished;

http://www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk/coralreef

Is a 3 mins drive or 12 mins walk from;

http://goape.co.uk/days-out/bracknell

Is 25 mins drive from Legoland and 30 mins from Thorpe Park, and you could easily spend a day in Windsor looking around the Castle, taking a boat ride along the Thames and ambling around the shopping centre or along the 'Long Walk'.

40 Mins along the M4 is Beale Park, an animal/petting zoo - my kids are 'all grown up' now but used to love it;

http://www.bealepark.co.uk/

There are also plenty of cinemas, bowling alleys, and National Trust places within 30-40 mins drive. If you are looking to be 'entertained' in holiday camp styleeeee then I would say look elsewhere, if you are willing to have a bit of an open mind and do stuff you wouldn't find in a holiday camp then there is quite a bit in the area but most of us 'locals' don't notice it because it's under our nose!!

All, thanks very much for the suggestions.

I've used the hotels in the area before but not really what I'm looking for this time.

Decided to give LEGOLAND a miss and found a nice lakeside lodge holiday park in Lincolnshire, everything I'm looking for and not too far away.

Thanks again.
Guy.

It's due to close shortly (this month I believe) for refurb. It's not been done yet.

Are you familiar with a site called airbnb.co.uk? Some possibilities on there.
