6 weeks to install traffic lights on the Jennett's Park roundabout.
It's ok though, it's part of a "joined-up approach"

Oh great, joined up traffic management - that will be a novelty. Is it joined up to the current works on the A329/M4 junction which will allow more traffic onto the A329?
I've always thought the junction at Jennets park was badly designed. So many people don't see/read the signs and end up in the wrong lane. I'm regularly cut up or had to take avoiding action when someone decides to change lanes at the last minute.
I assume there will be lights stopping the traffic heading on to the roundabout from the Reading direction so there will be many more cars stationary on the dual carriageway from that direction.

I suspect they are about to get a horrible lesson in how traffic lights don't improve a junction after they have finished with England's entire supply of cones at the Coral Reef roundabout.
That lesson may be there but they won't take any notice! As usual! They already had lights on the Sainsburys and Twin Bridges roundabouts, have now installed them on the Sports Centre and Horse and Groom ones and all they do is slow traffic. Nevertheless they are now intent upon installing some more!
And why oh why can't they just be on at peak times?
Oh just remembered, that would allow improved traffic flow and the hidden agenda seems to be to prevent that - maybe in the hope it will stop people going there?!
Suppose that approach woes work to a degree as I do avoid Bracknell as far as I possibly can (can't entirely as sadly I work there).
Im not sure how else you can improve that roundabout except with traffic lights. The stationary traffic from Bracknell up the duel carriageway everyday must be pain to sit in. Then you have the rat run through Jennets Park onto the roundabout to avoid the traffic queues. Very very badly designed.
I dont have a problem with lights at roundabouts but I do wish they would only be used for peak times only. The set on the Great Hollands roundabout is a perfect example. Controls the heavyweight of traffic at peak times, and outside of those times the traffic flows freely. Not hard to organise.

I'm just hacked off that I have worked at my current place of work in Theale since June 2014, and had to deal with roadworks somewhere or over continually in that time!I dont have a problem with lights at roundabouts but I do wish they would only be used for peak times only.
