List of Local Rolling Road's?
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm looking for some recommendations for a rolling road in the Gatwick area. Can anyone help?
Finding a good one seems to be word of mouth and To be honest I usually head either all the way to Surrey RR (now Farnborough, I believe?) or AMD in Essex as they are both reliable and from what I can tell, accurate but it would be handy to find somewhere much more local.
Thanks in advance.

I'm always firmly of the belief that if you find somewhere good, it's worth travelling to use them. I'm the same when it comes to car repairs too, I'll happily travel a fair distance and have a job done properly than use a local garage that I'll regret using.
I haven't used Surrey Rolling Road since they've moved but I have 2 cars that need power testing and Charlie (Surrey RR) will be getting my business as soon as I find the time to visit. Good, decent and reputable companies are like rocking horse droppings nowadays so if you do find one, make the most of them.

I'd also go for SRR based on recommendations, however if it's local to Gatwick then www.austec.co.uk couldn't be closer! I've been there to get some parts once or twice but not used the RR but it looks a good setup but that's to my untrained eye!

What car have you got? I've organised a Porsche day at Charlie's in early December.
A C63. I'm hoping for before/after remap runs; I have a Eurocharged handheld device that lets me switch between the factory file and remapped file. Should be minimal buggering about but I'd not want to hold up the day.I know a couple of people who have used Austec for mapping and they have been very happy with them. I've only been there twice myself, both times for open days. It looks to me like their HP figures are a little high compared to SRR (mine made 226 at SRR then 253 at Austec) but who knows which is more accurate?it should only really be used to show the effect of various mods anyway, comparing figures from different RRs is meaningless
