ANPR/Speed Camera A217 Banstead
Discussion
If you are legal it's no problem, but if you are not tough.
Live just off the A217 and like seeing them about, once you know they are there no problem (unless you are blind) as they can only be in one place at a time.
If it was possible to take ALL the illegal drivers off the road it would be great but as they have cut the budgets so much it's going to be hard.

There's more than one van Live just off the A217 and like seeing them about, once you know they are there no problem (unless you are blind) as they can only be in one place at a time.

They want to try putting the van or van plural in the right place.
Same old easy place to catch people. There are others who need it far more who are ignored - exactly why the police get the lack of support they do.
We don't get a choice, we're sent to the area because of a specific problem and it doesn't involve tax or insurance.Same old easy place to catch people. There are others who need it far more who are ignored - exactly why the police get the lack of support they do.
Think more about crime, that area has been hit very hard over the last month or so with a load of burglaries and car thefts. From the A217 we stretch ourselves out, we don't just sit on that road waiting for the van to ping!

Thanks for the insite My mum and Dad had a few burglaries in the past from Kingswood.
Sadly the technology was not about that much then.
You're welcome, it's not all about catching speeding motorists, in fact most officers don't have the time or the inclination to do speed enforcement. The ANPR van is there to cut crime and hopefully catch people who are out committing or have committed crime, everything else is just a bonus (motoring offences).Sadly the technology was not about that much then.
We have some fantastic results, but you'll rarely get to hear about it, as unlike RPU we don't plaster it all over twitter
