A Car for £400-£500 Top Gear Challenge

Afternoon,

In two weeks time me and a few mates are doing a Top Gear style challenge to Germany.

We are still looking for one more car for one of the other teams

It must be road legal with Tax and Mot for july (OK tyres etc etc).

Does any one have anything they want to get rid of cosmetic issues are not a problem but it will need to get around the ring without chucking its guts out.

The team really want a convertible but to be honest I'm thinking that's a bad idea.

There's an ok-ish looking Merc C200 wagon that's up for sale in Mr Sparkle carwash in Ashford / Staines. Think it was 350 quid looking at the sign at the back of it. Might be worth a punt.

You're right but a lot of it is spares/ repairs or doesn't have MOT or Tax.

It's looking like some sort of Saab or an MGF....

Should be able to get a mk2 MR2 T-bar from ebay for that.

There were a few that went for £750ish in April when i was considering one.

That would be an excellent choice apart from it looks like, from that picture the roof is fixed

A mate did similar and brought a Renault 5. It is now something of a legend and he cant part with it. They have done spa in it and the ring

If it's the one I've driven ignore the check engine light - it's always been on and ignore the scuttle shake - if you can!
