Morning all,

Unfortunately, and despite my best efforts to park as far away as possible from anyone, one of the guys at work reversed a trailer into the passenger door of my 2006 BMW Z4. Needless to say I'm pretty upset.

Having never required the services of a bodywork shop before, I have no idea where to go from here. To be fair the guy was super apologetic, and said just to get some quotes and he'd sort out the money, but it leaves me in a position. I HATE leaving my car with garages, and don't want to just get it done with any old shop; I want it to be exactly as it was before the scrape/dents.

Therefore please can I have your recommendations on a really good bodywork shop in or around the Guildford or Petworth area. I would of course be prepared to travel further afield for the right service.

Many thanks in advance

Ed

Hi, bodyshop-wise, BMW in Guildford would be the natural choice to repair your Z4.

Alloy refurbs, I can recommend Wicked Wheels in Guildford (just off Ladymead), the chap who runs it isn't the most cheerful person I've met, but the wheels have always come back looking great.

Great, thanks for your responses. I know the doors are Aluminium (as I believe are the rest of the panels?); is there any specific need to go to BMW main dealers, or can this be done by a recommended indy bodyshop? Only I've always found I've got a far better service from an indy than main dealers..

I'd seen Wicked Wheels advertised, I'll give them a call to discuss costs etc. Many Thanks!

http://www.milancoachworks.co.uk/ This guy works around the back of Hyundai dealership doing all their cars and also does a lot of Lotus work too. Small and independent you say smile I use him on my Elise and he did a lovely job.

If you want a professional job speak to Simon Katz at Katz Auto Refinishers in Haslemere. He's not cheap though.

I've always used S&H Coachworks in Brookwood, Norman is very down to earth, great work at a great price.

For wheels, I got mine powder coated at BVJ Engineering in Luton, they collected from my Dad's garage, again outstanding finish for a fraction of the price of others. Then again if you're not paying get it down to Vines.

Is he still there? Excellent! That's my recommendation too - has worked on three of our cars. Great finish and genuinely passionate about his work. Completely forgotten as no one has vandalised one of my cars recently smile
