Camera Van A30 / A322 Bagshot or something else?
Discussion
Only noticed this as I came off the a322 onto the a30 this evening and saw the unmarked van parked atop the bridge with what looked like two remote mounted cameras on tripods (one for each lane?). Not seen a setup like this before, so is it there to catch those above the speed limit, or for ANPR reasons, or something else?
I saw that too. Thank goodness it was an ANPR as I may have been a fraction over the speed limit there!
Just a quick related 'heads up' but I have noticed a fair bit more mobile scammera activity in the last few week in our area. I think I may have dodged one on the A3 southbound near Burpham but I am sure I was less lucky on the trip to Goodwood

Got to make some more money this month and top up the quota, I'm not interested what others say, when I see mobile camera vans parked in hard to see places ( they say safe places) it's for no other reason than to make it hard for you to see them until it's too late and you've been zapped . If they want people to slow down and reduce crashes and deaths , why don't they park in highly visible places to become easily visible and have maximum impact on reducing drivers speed.

To be fair the ones I've seen in Surrey have been fully in view, even the hants one on the A331 wasn't hiding. They can't just ping everything as that would show on the video. If they want people to slow down and reduce crashes and deaths , why don't they park in highly visible places to become easily visible and have maximum impact on reducing drivers speed.
ETA: doesn't mean I agree with camera vans btw!!
