Geometry Set-up near Guildford
Discussion
Morning all,
I've recently purchased a lovely BMW Z4 Coupe, and have noticed it is wearing the inner edge of all 4 tyres rather a lot. This coupled with quite fidgety handling on cambered roads and having done 50k with no record of a proper geo set-up in the history indicates to me it's about time it got done! To this end, I am looking for a decent garage to take it to who will do a proper geometry set up and wheel alignment.
Can anyone make any recommendations? So far I have been looking at the following:
http://backontrackmotorsport.co.uk/
http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/
Obviously I appreciate you get what you pay for; is the going rate for proper Geometry set-up between £130-170? Seems a bit steep to me, but I don't pretend to know a great deal about what is involved! Having come from french hot hatches previously where the only thing adjustable was front toe, so this is a bit new to me!
Any other advice/recommendations appreciated!
Cheers
Ed

There is nothing bad to be said about Wheels-in-motion. Great guys who really know their stuff.
On my MX5 which should be similar (front toe, caster & camber and rear toe and camber) it's usually around £120. Z4 might be more complex though which would account for extra cost.

Thanks for the advice chaps.
In the end I had a very informative chat with Back On Track this afternoon; they really did sound like they knew what they were talking about, and seemed resonably priced on the scale of it. They also said there was no point in getting the geo set up before getting new tyres, so I'll be wasting the existings (drifting anyone?!) and then replacing end of summer...
which tempts me to some CSL alloys with new tyres..... hmmmmmmm!
