Instead of the repetition of the pot hole strewn roads that we seem to have to endure these days, how about a heads up for decent bits of tarmac!
I have two to suggest
1) past Fairoaks airport between Ottershaw and Chobham
2) coming into Pirbright from Mytchett
Nice work chaps whoever you might be?

But for how long, they were only laid last year

Some roads that were laid only a few years ago now have massive pot holes

Slyfield Industrial Estate j/w A320

Nice job too
Shame Scc highways did not take avantage of the window to widen the road a few metres
and install some new kerbs at there are many pushed over and into the ground by heavy trucks owing to the limited clearance heading Woking bound

Frimley high street has a very nice fresh coating of the black stuff now smile It was fantastic driving down there last week and realising I no longer had to weave left to right hehe

I just wish they'd do the same on Park Road in Camberley past the Doctors surgery as that road is now just a combination of potholes & trenches which requires some good steering input to avoid them & any cars heading straight for you doing the same thing banghead

I believe the work was done by Lafarge Tarmac. Thanks for the comments, I'll pass them on to the team.

Conway are SCC Contractor of choice
Shame they cannot get to grips with some simple Gully Cleaning to ensure the systems are working for the next deluge or 30/50 year storm frown
Clearance of road side ditches would also go along way to help.

As far as I'm aware the surfacing is done by Lafarge Tarmac or one of Kier/May Gurney's sub-contractors, either Marshall or Aggregate Industries. Conway don't have a lot to do with laying tarmac there.

A Conway van and two guys in full hi-vis etc from Conways surfacing division seen measuring up around Merrow and Slyfield this week.
That's what I based my observations on.
I sub-contact to Guildford but there is no love lost between the two authorities.
a Unitary Authority would be the way forward, far less admin required.
Better value for the local council tax payers.
Local contractors getting work and more control on the finished detail. IMO.

Last night the west side of the A322 roundabout in Bisley was re surfaced

Considering it is a relitivly new roundabout and already been patched up a few times,
one wonders how long this will last

I see they don't fill the joints with hot tar these days, something to do with 'Healt n Safety'
Then the water etc gets into the joints and under the surface, back to Square One again

That road from West End bridge to traffic lights at Knaphill is a disgrace
I have put three separate claims in for damage, one has paid out from last year.
Await the other two and I will continue with any further damage caused.

That roundabout by Hen & Chicks has never been without surface and gully grating issues
Should have been thrown back to design engineer and contractor first time.

Over Banding has been stopped for many years now, the edges are supposed to be treated
but it does not last, was stopped due to supposed accidents caused by smooth strips on surface but it would be easy to lay on some fine anti skid while its still hot
Load of bks is you ask me, time proven method that worked.

Yately Road past Tri Lakes has been re-surfaced and not before time. It was truly terrible before!
