Spotted the scameratti at the A30/Frimley Rd traffic lights tonight. Was gone 10:30pm and the first time I've seen a Talivan operating at night. Luckily I saw him as I pulled out of the Golden Arches (...yes I know, should be 'no right turn') and the BM was on tickover (phew), but has anyone else seen them at night in our area.

Expect it will be a wake up call for a few of the Corsa Warriors at Macdonalds tonight too.... what route do folks advise when I make 'progress' to Camberley after midnight 2/3 weekday nights a week from M25/3?

More than likely it's the ANPR van as they've been operating in Camberley and Frimley a lot recently

Thanks FuryExocet.... Reassuring answer until I saw him there again tonight (6pm). Religiously 'filming'(?) almost stationary rush hour traffic, and clearly displaying a 'stick on' yellow speed camera plate inside the back window. Curious'er and curious'er?

Pretty sure its just ANPR. At rush hour traffic crawls there so no need to worry about speeding but anyone they spot on the road can be pulled quickly and easily if required.

There was an early morning one on the Hogs back heading towards Guildford on Sunday.
There was me being careful on the BVR, and then when i saw him in the distance on the Hogs back i thought it's ok i'm not speeding, then moments later realised S**T it's 60 along here not 70 !!!
Bugger. I wouldn't mind but the road was empty and sun shinning. Safety van my ar*e

Thanks guys...I guess we'll see vans coming back more and more as councils keep loosing budget and money. Forewarned and all that?

Marked Focus Estate was doing the checks on the A30 today. Held back to let them get off the pavement / verge they were parked on & was greeted with a flash of the hazards & then a nod of appreciation & thumbsup for my 205 GTI when I pulled alongside them at the traffic lights in Camberley smile

That's a very common place for them to wait. I am always careful on that stretch.

The council doesn't get the money though??

(It's an ANPR van in Camberley, the older one has a camera picture on it!!!)

The speed vans on the A31/Hogs back are often up there. The one thing Surrey doesn't overkill on is speed camera vans!!

For some reason the marked ANPR van has a camera sticker on it.

I saw the speed van on the Hogs back last week too, think I was doing 60mph.

It's also regularly on the A3 around Ripley, catches out quite a few!
