Fellow Pistonheaders.
I am trying to coordinate help for the poor fellows of Thames Valley caught in the flooding, it's an exercise that has only been on the go on my part for 24 hours, but already I have various parties involved and helping, including people who helped coordinate supplies and services in Somerset, and a gentleman who works for a disaster relief charity.
I am hoping to find out exactly what is needed tomorrow, but I suspect it will be things like clothes, blankets etc, and also maybe somewhere to store supplies until they are needed.
I wont post the details of the group on this thread, it is easy to find in the TV&S section of the forum, but would be greatly appreciative of people who would join, and also anyone who can offer assistance with the supplies above, or anything else that is needed. I know that animals were a huge concern for the people of Somerset, and I think homing pets will be an issue too, although obviously to a lesser extent.
I am also trying to get together people to help with physical help, in terms of sand bags etc.
Lets see what we can do shall we?

Sewer within inches of overflowing here so I'm going to have to stay put. Otherwise I would be with you having seen what's already happened around us.

I could donate stuff on that list, but there's no way of getting over to Iver by 8.30pm tonight. OP, I know you're fairly local to me, are you going over there tonight by any chance if I drop it off with you?

Signed up. A friend live in Wraysbury and is about 4 inches from getting flooded. He has defenses in place but there's a limit to what he can do.

Anyone able to spare some time in Colnbrook this afternoon?
They have just posted in the group, and are absolutely desperate for help.

I am off to colnbrook later to put some flood boards over the external doors at g/f's place.
Seal off air brickes too
Only thing is it may come up through floor from a joining house.
Leaving a pump there just in case too

200 yards away its in the houses already

Biggest help is to stop people trying to drive down flooded roads and either turn around and make a nice bow wave or stop and take pictures of flooded houses. I have been threatened for asking a car that stopped blocking a closed road to move to let resident through to be told the road is closed so he can park were ihe liked!!!! Arrggghhhh

I am a member on another Facebook Group helping out in Somerset, but have just politely told them to fk off after being reminded that everyone in the Thames Valley is out for themselves and we are all fabulously wealthy etc..we are also a bunch of t0ssers after the EA walked off site after abuse from locals.
What actually happended apparently was 2 workers walked off site on Monday PM and was back on Tuesday morning..
