Anyone with experience of these locally? Can you just roll up and say "weigh this please?" or what?
I need to get the weight of my un-plated car trailer so that I can make sure I'm not towing too much for my tow vehicle.

Most scrapyards will do it for you, maybe charge you a couple of quid though. We have had rally cars here in the past getting weighed. Breaks the day up from looking at the usual crap.

Thanks for responses. Have even found, during my internet travels, that people use 4 bathroom scales.

Good for a rough estimate but way too inaccurate. +/- 0.1% for racecar scales for example.

Looks as if there's one at the Smallmead Recycling depot http://www.re3.org.uk/trade_page.asp?id=1
Also A1 Motorspares in Bearwood, just behind Wokingham have one.
HTH.
Cheers, Pewe.
