Have a word with doorman on PH, he installs garage doors. Seceuroglide are the dog's danglies he says. Essati was called Seguro once; I was in the market last year and heard mixed opinions about them.

I too would be very interested in how you get on. I'm in the market for a couple of doors, that price is very good.

Yep interested too. I was quoted £1800 cash a year ago for a fitted door.

Will do. They're changed their name a coupel of times (probably like double glazing companies) but I'll mention that tomorrow.

If the door is attached to the rotating axle by plastic retainers do NOT buy it. they will break, repeatedly.

Guess how I know. . .?

Securoglide do the doors with metal retainers which last and do not break

If you want a complete recommendation for an electric garage door company, then I am a VERY satisfied and long term customer of Armourelle -

I've used them too and found them excellent - the original guy now seems to have his son doing most of the fitting, but amazingly he seems just as anal about garage doors as his old man. E.g. when he fitted a second door motor in my garage recently, he also changed the original wall switch so that it matched the new one, so that was great attention to detail.

Right, met with their rep this morning (nice guy). Door is £699 fitted. If you don't have a wooden frame its £190 on top of that and if you want the slightly better model it came in, with frame, at about £980. That model included an alarm, an addition remote, one touch down action (the std model only has one touch up, you have to hold the button to get it all the way down). The door and mech looked good and although I'd heard some reports about dodgy plastic parts of the mechanism all the parts on the door were metal. We saw a demo model in the guy's van.

We didn't go for it, or haven't yet, as SWMBO found some negative company info on duedil.com about them and that made us think twice. Overall nice guy and good product IMO.

Are you able to share costs / what you had done? Cheers!

Hi Kris.
The house we moved to 15 years ago already had the electric door fitted by Amourelle (as do quite a few houses on our Lane) and we had them come and service and check it over when we moved in.
We suspected that the motor had failed last year and priced up a new replacement motor and arranged for it to be fitted. (can't remember the cost, sorry)
However, on the day, Nick's son (Richard, I think) was able to repair the wiring in the original motor unit and therefore saved us the cost of the new motor (and it's still fine now). He just charged us for a standard service cost. This was unbelievably honest as he could have quite easily just fitted a new one.
This is typical of their attention to detail (as described so well by 'outnumbered' above).
I have mentioned before on here when describing the company, that they have provided the most professional service we have ever received by any company that has done work on our house (well them and RoyE6 the builder on here!). I am not sure how the cost compares to other similar companies, but as far as my own experiences go, I totally recommend them even if they don't prove to be the cheapest.

These guys are good and very reasonably priced. I've had the Excel doors fitted at both my last and current houses and they've proved to be excellent

They sure are,I had one fitted over 5yrs ago and it has never missed a beat.Mind you I paid £2109 then!!
so the O/P quote is very interesting? they must be desperate for business to knock 75% off.

Apparnetly its long standing deal from them. I suspect most people pay nearer £1,000.

Well they came back today and fitted it for me. Very good job, I'd recommend them.

Job will pay for itself first time I don't open the up and over into the back of the Jaag parked too close wink
