Apparently business is tough, but on the plus side, we will get a new Tesco smile

To go with the new Waitrose, and the current Co-op and the mini M&S.

It's fking ridiculous. I know that there is no chance Jacks will stay but there is no need for the Tescos.

A real shame, although Jack's has been going downhill for some time. Clearly his heart was no longer in it.

It just means that the co-op will go out of business and we'll be left with a monstrous boarded up 60's eyesore slap bang in the middle of Bagshot, another planning triumph rolleyes

He owns loads of places in the area, but will probably want at least one cash business ticking over so you may be right.

I don't think they got planning permission through for that .. it was a joint venture with Costa

Been there twice in December
Waited for an age to get served by a clue less muppet & gave up - went to the one in Lightwater.
2nd time as I was working nearby its was tasteless and was going to take it back, however I launched the lot into the woods for the local foxes

That's the former Bird in Hand pub site.
Flatten it and build something useful like much needed small unit housing.
Bagshot has loads of takeaway places

Another Tescos.
twinned with the potential one in Lightwater.

I must buy Tesco shares, they are obviously trying to increase market share.

No great loss, ste fish and chip outlet.

Ps as a bagshot resident, Coop can go bust too. Pointless supermarket, too small and expensive and the staff are miserable fks lol.

They need to do something with Hardys....

agree as well, and well put .. it's not the demise of the co-op I object to, it's the eyesore that will be left behind, and the impression it will make on an already suffering high street.

Sadly, Bagshot village seems doomed, whether or not thats snobbery on the part of the residents association, I don't know. OK so finally the Fighting cocks has been done up, but I'm confused whats going to happen with the nice new shop next to belle devere, it needs to be a nice off licence, something like Liquor World in Windlesham but nicer LOL. I want to be able to buy a nice selection of real ales without having to go to Sainsbury in Camberley.

Too many airy fairy nick nack shops, who actually says 'Oh I want to get some nice heart shaped house decor, oh yeah lets go to that obscure village and shop local, rather than go to NEXT home'

The Tesco in Chobham is quite nice, give us that but with much better parking.

Ate in there for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago, wasn't that impressed with the food, I queued for ages as well.
I used to work at Jacks in Sandhurst and that one was very good, although this was around 15+ years ago! Cod & chips for £2.40
