Apparently business is tough, but on the plus side, we will get a new Tesco

To go with the new Waitrose, and the current Co-op and the mini M&S. http://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/local-news/tesco-m...
It's fking ridiculous. I know that there is no chance Jacks will stay but there is no need for the Tescos.

they own another site on the A30 which i suspect will re-open as another Chippy. . .the former pub opposite the garden centre, Nottcutts
I don't think they got planning permission through for that .. it was a joint venture with CostaEdited by benters on Tuesday 14th January 10:59

A real shame, although Jack's has been going downhill for some time. Clearly his heart was no longer in it.
Been there twice in DecemberWaited for an age to get served by a clue less muppet & gave up - went to the one in Lightwater.
2nd time as I was working nearby its was tasteless and was going to take it back, however I launched the lot into the woods for the local foxes

agree as well, and well put .. it's not the demise of the co-op I object to, it's the eyesore that will be left behind, and the impression it will make on an already suffering high street.Ps as a bagshot resident, Coop can go bust too. Sadly, Bagshot village seems doomed, whether or not thats snobbery on the part of the residents association, I don't know. OK so finally the Fighting cocks has been done up, but I'm confused whats going to happen with the nice new shop next to belle devere, it needs to be a nice off licence, something like Liquor World in Windlesham but nicer LOL. I want to be able to buy a nice selection of real ales without having to go to Sainsbury in Camberley.
Too many airy fairy nick nack shops, who actually says 'Oh I want to get some nice heart shaped house decor, oh yeah lets go to that obscure village and shop local, rather than go to NEXT home'
The Tesco in Chobham is quite nice, give us that but with much better parking.
