Hi,

Has anyone had their loft converted recently? I am looking for recommendations. Looking to create a home office with stairs, heating, wiring, storage and a dormer in a victorian semi in Guildford. Lots of options but wanted to narrow the field down with some recommendations.

Specifically has anyone used?

www.surreylofts.co.uk

Thanks.

We were thinking of doing the same, had a quote frone one of the above

Came out at twice the price we expected so has put us off getting more quotes

Maybe worth me giving them a call then

All I want for the roof conversion is a dormer built, stairway and converted into a room
I was looking for an estimate of £20k, came out at nearer £40k

There are other works downstairs if thay wo do the job, I would hope the extras would come out at £10k

Brilliant! Thanks for the detail, that really helps me get a feel for the sorts of costs I am looking at - probably something very similar minus the bathroom. I will definitely give him a ring.

It looks great BTW :-)

Thanks for posting this up, really good detail and info I have saved his number.

Only comment is from a safety point of view from where the bed is its a big drop on the other side for little ones. I am sure you are aware of this and please don't take it the wrong way. Having had my 3 year old flip backwards down the stairs recently (followed by 999 and ambulance to hospital) I am slightly paranoid.

Cheers
Jon

Hit slight snag on the home front - nothing major but might have to delay 12 months. Waiting to find out before look into things further. This post is bookmarked though :-)

We have "The loft access company" coming out on Monday to insulate, board and fit a ladder and new hatch to our loft.

www.theloftaccesscompany.com

They seem very polite and seem to know what they are doing, the price was very good too.

Their sister company (same guys/vans etc) is www.loft-conversions-berkshire.co.uk.

Im more than happy to give you a better idea of workmanship etc once they have finished on monday.

Hi Sidekickdmr

Just stumbled across this thread and was wondering how you got on with The Loft Access Company?

Thanks

Hello,

Yes they were good, we had to get them back to remedy something but overall happy with the price/service.

Owner seems a decent chap too!
