Road closed due to weather thread.

Blackhorse Road at St Johns near Brookwood was closed off the other day
No problem for the Ranger but some poor sod in an Astra may have a motor issue
I have been out all hours dealing with flooded underground car parks
and deep level basements where pumps have needed a helping hand / repair
My stock of temporary pumps, hoses and cables is nearly all out.
Tanker has been busy too ££££

I've generally been ignoring the road closed signs as have loads of other drivers, some roads have been closed yet have not even a puddle on then.
The problem is they are closed when they are really bad and people have been getting stuck, but we can't stay at the closure and monitor it, officers then get sent elsewhere and no one then has time to go back and check all the closure's, it's not ideal but there really isn't a lot else that can be done, everyone is so busy (Police, Highways and the local authority)The night we had the bad storms, there were over 300 Icads just for trees being down
This morning Almners Road Lyne/Chertsey was still flooded under the rail bridge even though the road closed signs had been removed. Looks like a riot happened there - car stranded in the flood water appeared to have been vandalised along with a load of fly tipping on the edge of the flood water. Hopefully will be cleared soon!
