Got this from a busy body mate who's on neighbourhood watch-

Motorists advised of abnormal load travelling through Surrey
Surrey Police is advising motorists to be aware of an abnormal load that will be travelling through part of the county on Saturday morning (December 7)
Two articulated lorries carrying a load of metal cylinders measuring 21m long will be escorted by two Surrey Police motorcycles on a route from Slyfield Industrial Estate in Guildford to Pease Pottage services in Crawley.
The journey is due to start at 8am and is going to take around four hours to complete.
From Slyfield, the escort will travel on the A320 Woking Road, Clay Lane, A3, London Rd, Clandon Rd, A246, A24 and A264 through to its destination. The load, which is too large to travel on the motorway, is eventually bound for Portslade Docks in Sussex.
It will pass through Effingham, Bookham and Dorking and is expected to be slow moving.
Wherever possible disruption will be kept to a minimum however some congestion could be possible and motorists are asked to be patient if they do come across the convoy.
Anyone travelling over this period to catch a flight or meet appointments are advised to allow sufficient additional time for their journeys.

Hope this helps everyone avoid this!

Matt

To large for a three lane motorway

Not to large for narrow winding side roads

Sounds like the inmates running the mental hospital again

8am on a Saturday is clearly the ideal time to move this kind of cargo, rather than in the early hours to ensure clearer routes and actually AVOID disruption.

That road near the industrial estate is a fking joke with the potholes. Woking road.

I have never seen a road as bad as that one in my life.

Exactly. It's not like there is a shortage of daylight at 4am, is there?

Or perhaps it's due to the low bridge/gantry heights on motorways!!

Blame the tree huggers and protesters as the original project got shelved
to provide a new wider decent access road and much needed improvement of the access
and the main roads almost to Maybury.

So blame the Unwashed, Unemployed, long haired dirty tree living benefit scroungers
for what is left now - limp wristed Barclays bankers...

Will be watching this too, the amount of effort some guys put in to decorating their bikes is great. Would be brilliant if the PH toy run could reach that amount.
