Whitley (Reading) Last Night

Anyone know what was going on last night? Came off the M4 at Junction 11 to get to Earley, my normal route was closed by a police car and on my alternate route I saw another 3 road closed and around 7/8 police cars either parked up at junctions or patrolling the area. I know police in the area is pretty common, the police helicopter is normally hovering over that area but I've never seen anything on that scale. So any ideas what was going on?
