Hiya,

Any carpenters from the Reading area on here who'd like a smallish job, or does anyone know of any?

It's so difficult to get a trade round to do small jobs these days. Most of them don't answer their phones, the few who do tell you you have to wait until "after Christmas", and the one who promises to call round and quote on the job never turns up. (Though one was at least honest and said "I hate doing that job so I don't want to do it" - fair play to him!)

What is it you need doing? If it's not that specialised it may be easier to get hold of an odd job person rather than a full on carpenter?

Mm, possibly. I need a new door handle attaching to an inside door. And I also need the door and frame repairing - we had to attack it with a chisel when the old handle jammed solid. wink

We currently have an excellent carpenter/builder in from Southcote doing our kitchen. If it was a bigger job I'd recommend him smile
