Anyone been? I looked up their site for details and there's nothing on there and most menu options don't work.
Given how close it is I thought I'd go along but I won't bother guessing when its open or what's on!
There was the old stock car raceway, now long gone when they built the A331Given how close it is I thought I'd go along but I won't bother guessing when its open or what's on!
I used to go there in the 60's
Just Googled, this came up

Looks like they don't race there any more, the last mention is of the 2011 season and there are no events at Aldershot on the calendar. Oh well, that'll teach me not to put off these things.http://www.spedeworth.co.uk/venue.php?name=Aldersh...

Right, emailed them and they said they don't run in Autumn/Winter and open again at Easter, whoever there is racing in Wimbledon on Sunday evenings.

We went a week ago for the last meet of the year. Kids can get in free with a voucher from the local newspaper.
Mixture of cars racing, but our favourites was the "chelsea tractors" destruction derby races, lots of them rolling over and last man standing at the end was really good fun.

"The New Aldershot Raceway is situated at Pegasus Village, Rushmoor Arena, Rushmoor Road, Aldershot, Hants. The track is a 350 metre tarmac oval with a steel plate barrier. The spectators can get close to the action at Aldershot due to the close proximity between the racing and the spectator. The facilities include a seated Grandstand, banked terracing and hot dog/hamburger stalls. There are also toilets and ample car parking. There is free spectator access to the pit area also.
The advertised start time is the time of the first race.
Practice is available from Sat 31st March throughout the 2011 season provided that there is enough interest (with the exception of a few Saturdays). Drivers MUST book-in at the Aldershot Office, Mon-Fri 9 til 5 (01252 322920)".
Post Code nearest to track is GU11 1SQ.

Just thought I'd 'bump' this thread as there looks to be quite a good meeting this weekend at Aldershot.
V8 Stock Cars and National Unlimited Bangers.
I've been a few times in the past and might go along to this meet.
Details here - http://www.spedeworth.co.uk/venue.php?name=aldersh...

The bangers were absolutely mental. 36 started in one race and only 5 finished. Several of them ended up looking like that car in Father Ted.
Don, you're welcome.
I went too - it was a great days racing - I'm always amazed at the strength of the driver's part of bangers with cars 'following in' to the wall and then the drivers just leap out as if nothing has happened when their cars are 1/3 the length they should be. Bonkers. I'd NEVER have the balls to go racing!
I love the sound of the V8's - shame there weren't more of them.
