From the Bracknell Forest Council Facebook page:

Rackstraw Road will be closed for resurfacing works from Monday, October 28, 2013 for four days. The closures will be daytime off-peak only between 9.30am and 4.00pm.

The sections being resurfaced are from a point approximately 150m north of Acacia Avenue roundabout to a point approximately 40m south of Evenlode Way roundabout, including the roundabout itself at Evenlode Way/Owlsmoor Road (but not Acacia Avenue roundabout).

Rackstraw Road is a major link between Bracknell and Sandhurst. This means that it carries a considerable amount of traffic, and hence suffers from a considerable amount of wear. The section we are closing now needs resurfacing and we need to close the road to undertake the works. These works are essential to maintain the integrity of the highway.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Diversions will be in place.

At the same time as the Broadmoor work and the twin bridges work...priceless

Isn't that half term week for schools? If so it does make sense to do it then for less disruption.

Although I must admit since they've had the roadworks on the twin bridges & at Broadmoor I've completely avoided going anywhere near Bracknell, so those additional works wont be ideal for the locals.

If they're going to close it then it probably makes sense to do it while the Broadmoor work is still ongoing as there's probably less traffic heading that way at the moment as some people'll be avoiding forester's way.

True, but a proper kick in the balls for those who are still using those routes. Thankfully they've at least considered peak times.

Depends what you consider peak times eh!
Closure of carriageway from 09:30 to 15:30 and that means complete clearance by 15:30 would not seem so bad.
Looks like it will be busy through Yateley and Sandhurst then as the easy diversion.
Not for High Vehicles though. A322 / A30 so that's Camberley (Surrey's Slough) fooked.
The work for Broadmoor access is taking far too long and could have been avoided by just having an in / out slip roads as there are roundabouts at each end.

Bit like the Jennings park junction on the A329, not needed as the Waitrose one could have been
modified without ruining a decent dual carriageway.

Yes, also true. Fine for those trying to get to work before 9am, but a bd for others using it during the day. I must say, quite impressive by the project planners to ensure that Bracknell is barely accessible from any direction.

Your point about the in/out slip roads was exactly what I thought. Why they need a full blown roundabout for one access road is beyond me, especially seeing as they've had to widen the road to accommodate for the slip roads anyway.

I was just thinking last week that that stretch of road could do with resurfacing. Shouldn't be a problem for me as I'll be at work during those times, but it will be a nightmare for anyone else having to detour yet again. You can bet that Owlsmoor Road will take a hammering that week, which wouldn't be a bad rat-run except you have the cars parked on the road at the top end, which gets a bit grid-locked when there's lots of traffic in both directions.

Any just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, they've popped up a census check just outside the Eagle House School in Sandhurst. Think I may just start cycling the 10 miles to work at this rate.

Bracknell Forest responded with this, to their Facebook announcement:

"There will be resident access and the work will not be undertaken until the roundabout work on the A3095 is complete.

We do understand that these roadworks will cause inconvenience for residents and motorists. However, this particular stretch of road has now suffered considerate wear (due to harsh winters and high traffic volume) and needs to be resurfaced. The work will be done during half term when there is traditionally less traffic on the road.

The sections being resurfaced are north of Acacia Avenue roundabout to a point just south of Evenlode Way roundabout, including the roundabout itself at Evenlode Way/Owlsmoor Road (but not Acacia Avenue roundabout).

The Evenlode Way roundabout will be re-opened as soon as possible in order that local traffic will be able to use Owlsmoor Road, but is likely to be closed during the time period stated above on the Monday and Tuesday. There will be a signed diversion route via Foresters Way, Nine Mile Ride, A322 Bagshot Road, Bracknell Road, A30 London Road and Marshall Road.

However, local traffic can follow the diversion route, or, use local knowledge to seek shorter diversions on local roads.

We will endeavour to provide access as much as possible for residents, however it is inevitable that the works will cause some disruption and a relatively long diversion."
