Anyone have one from our area? Thinking of taking a few Lotus bods with me when I go and it'd be nice not to use main roads. It won't be a hoon as such, just a nice drive down there.

There's a couple of routes I use to avoid using M27/M3 coming from Beaulieu to our area. They will probably work in reverse if you want to try them.

1. From Beaulieu A326, over M27, A3090 to Romsey, A3090 towards Winchester, M3 J11 to J10, A31 to Guildford.

2. From Beaulieu A326, over M27, A3090 to Romsey, A3057 to Stockbridge, A30 to A303, then M3.

I used the A31 route twice recently (Supercar Showdown and Autojumble) and it had very little traffic.

Use this route often just for the entertainment as my parents live near Beaulieu:

  • M4 J11 to Basingstoke on A33
  • Basingstoke to Andover on B3400
  • A3057 from Andover to Romsey (great road!)
  • A3090 from Romsey to M27 J2
  • Straight across at M27 J2 south down the A326
  • B3054 through the New Forest to Beaulieu.

The A33 and B3400 (east of Whitchurch) are horrid roads. Come off at jc12 and take the A4/A340 to edge of Tadley and then follow the B3051. South of Kingsclere either take the B3051 to Overton or keep on the road all the way to Whitchurch.

Cheers chaps, just mapped it out on Google Maps so I can turn it into a sat nav file. Google reckons 2 hours to cover the 62 miles! I suspect we might do it in a few less than that! wink

So what's Beaulieu like? smile
