Hello

I am after a recommendation for my airbag problem (other than scrap the bloody car!)

My mechanic can no longer clear the codes, he says it is related to the airbag sensor unit, which I have removed. I am however struggling to find a company who are confident they can fix it.

One said to get a duplicate (same part number) and send him mine and the duplicate and he would transfer the data over, minus the fault.

I would like to take it to someone local?

Thanks in advance.

It looks like this (not the actual one)

It is driving me crazy not being able to drive my car!

If its E46 based try Chris Plummer in the directory. He disabled the passenger air bag and coded out the light on one of my BMWs a couple years ago.

Why does it mean you can't drive the car?

Perhaps it won't pass the new MOT rules? The airbag light should come on then go out.

Ah, fair enough then.

ETA: Having said that, the airbag warning light has been on in my car for about 8 years. The garage/MoT station I use know me and my car and know the light is only on due to me fitting non-standard seats which don't have the occupancy sensor. It's a slightly different case though.
