Hi all

I was driving Westbound on the M4 this evening at about 6:50, between junctions 12 and 13, and spotted a seemingly dodgy police car. Wondered if anyone else spotted it, or if anyone knew if it was legit or not?

It was this age of Vectra:

However, it didn't have the "Police" wording on the back, or any of the "Battenburg" on the lower bumper. The battenburg down the side was either very faded, or slightly different colours. Also, the light bar across the top looked very different (I think half was red, half was blue) and the word POLICE was written in the middle in red writing.

The car looked generally tatty, and wasn't as well driven as I would have expected (bad indication, was doing 90 or so in the outside lane with nothing in the middle lane, rapid lane change), and in as it was off into the distance the more I thought about it the more I thought it might be dodgy.

All I caught of the plate was that it ended in AVP. Anyone got any more info about it? Its probably a normal police car and I've slagged off the local force hehe

Military Police round here drive Vectras and Corsas, they are also older as I assume they don't do as many miles as Home office forces

Hi all.

Military police sounds most likely, hadn't considered that!
For those unfamiliar with the stretch of the m4, you would be between those junctions for both RAF Welford and Denison Barracks in Hermitage, so actually more than likely...

Thanks

Funny you should post that Dizeee as i was giving my mums MG ZR a run last week and one of those Military Police vehicles nearly clipped me at the corners on the Golf course entrance as it was cutting them banghead

Obviously the speed limit down your bit doesn't apply to them either as they must have been pushing 60+ when they narrowly missed me banghead

Bearing in mind your location, I'd also say MOD, most likely from AWE.
