Aldermaston & AWE this morning

Anyone have any idea what was going on there this morning? I drive past there every morning but this morning I hit a tail-back on the road to Tadley past the main entrance all the way back to the Silchester roundabout so I did a 3 (5) point turn and went the other way down Red Road towards Aldermaston but then I got stuck for 10 minutes in stationary traffic at the A340 junction. I could see Police were there but I couldn't see why and they had gobe by the time I got to the junction.

There were protesters at the main gates on Friday (first time I've seen them there for over a year) but they weren't causing a hold-up.

I also got caught up in the traffic at the easter park roundabout this morning, don't know what happened but will find out.

Found out one of the main gates were shut for road works, all traffic re-routed!

Thanks for the info. I noticed the North entrance at the top of Red Road was closed too which I thought was unusual.

I live very close to AWE - not happy that no warning was given
