Its waaayyy too long since there was a good karting event. I've not organised anything but if I did how many people would be up for it. Assume about £50 (probably less though).

If you are can you state whether whether you'd prefer a weekday evening or weekend.

Please mention it to anyone else you think would be interested.

Evening/weekend shouldn't be a problem for me. Got others that would do it too.

Yes I'm interested but depends where you are thinking of going?

I personally wouldn't bother with Teamsport in Camberley as its far to expensive and a rubbish track. Thruxton has a good track but is very pricey. The best value I find to be Daytona at Sandown Park.

Just my initial thoughts...

Should be quite flexible with evening/weekends

Yep, I'd be up for that. Evening or weekend makes little difference to me.
Is the indoor track still there at Aldershot? That was quite decent. The electric karts in Reading are slowish but good fun as there is no grip at all so it's all about sliding around the corners.

I went to a corporate event at Daytona Karting at Sandown last Thursday and highly recommend it - really good, fast track.

Nice fast start/finish straight that feeds a long right hander (I discovered you can take it at full chat), which feeds a right hand hairpin, straight into a left hand hairpin, short straight into a left/right/right, another straight, another right hand hairpin, longish left, another right hand hairpin into the start/finish straight.

The karts are twin engined and reasonably quick, plenty of chance for controlled sliding (but this will kill your lap time) - I managed a best of 53.25 seconds - so you have your benchmark!!

I live near High Wycombe so depending on place and time I'll be up for it, could bring my brother along too. I'll also agree that daytona at sandown is a great track, been a couple of times and it doesn't get boring.

I have spoken to Sandown and the two options in terms of formats are 'D40' which is a 5 min practice to set grid positions and then a 40 min race meaning plenty of time racing for everyone. Alternatively there is a 'Cup' version which is the same but for 30 mins. The D40 is £70 and the Cup is £60. However after 15 people they start discounting additional places (which we'd spread over the cost of all of them). With this in mind it is in our favour to get as many as possible. I know many of you are members of other clubs too, could you corss post this to get more drivers?

So, thoughts on the cost and chances of getting others?

What's the max number they can entertain?

I'm in for the 40 min session but will go with the flow

EDIT: I spoke to Teamsport at Camberely (see webite for details). We can have an event that is 15 minute heats (max 10 karts per heat) which is essentially 25-30 laps and then 15 minute finals (same no. of laps). all for £40. So thats 50-60b laps for £40. Better?
