I had to detour because of it, saw an ambulance with its lights on heading in that direction so assumed it was on its way there. I couldn't see what was going on though.

seeing where it occured, it baffles me as to why they close the road at the Retreiver Rbout. Better to let cars go to the Great hollands slip and along Gt Hollands road to the Birch hill Rbout. instead of the miles long diversion via nine mile ride(south) and the Industrial estate.(north)

It just beggers belief that there was a head on there, UNLESS the Merge signs were not being adhered to

Conjecture.

1)traffic going onto nine mile ride, inside man doesn't let outside man in, forcing him onto off side and into oncoming traffic.

2) outside man tries to bully in and bottles it, ending up on wrong side


3) traffic approaching rbout from Crowthorne strayed over to offside, the approach is a bit of a weird design.

Some years ago the local Kremlin wanted to dual that bit but was howled down by the locals living alongside in Holland Pines.
I 18 months there has been a M/C fatal and a chap going off road into the trees just past the bus junction. ( methinks in order to avoid a guy overtaking off the Retreiver Rbout, but never saw any follow up on that) plus several near hits
