Swapped my daily driver
Discussion
After four years and 50,000 miles (136k in total) my trusty Scoob is getting a well deserved rest. I've decided to buy a second car both for work and as daily driver. Drum roll, please....
Yes fellow PH'ers, I now have the honor of piloting a Fiat Panda 1.2 Eleganza. It's a 2005 model, but having picked it up this Saturday, I have to say it's a brilliant little thing. Roomy, comfortable, handles really well and is more pokey than I thought. It fits all my work gear in and returns around 43mpg on the motorway - something I haven't experienced in a while!
And, it's only £42 to fill up - £72 for the scooby.
I'm still going keep my Impreza and will be upgrading various bits over the coming months, something I've been keen to do for a while.
I'm not normally one that supports improving the environment, or would have ever thought of being more sensible, but I'm really pleased with my purchase and have just ordered a PH smiley for it!
Just out of interest, has anyone else swapped their daily driver for something a little more economical and been happy with their new car?

I had to sell a 2006 Merc C350 to free up some funds for the house. I brought a MG ZT 190 for £1100. Only done 65K, needed a new PAS pump which I brought on eBay but so far so good.
Its a great daily snotter, slightly better MPG but its 82bhp and 1000CC down on the Merc so its no where near as quick but its fun to drive.

Well I did just that about 18 months ago, was running a mustang as my daily to and from work and out and about round sites doing visits ect ect, petrol started to pinch so decided on a Brabus Smart car which has been fun, fast and saved me around £75 a week in fuel, but I have to say for me the novelty has worn off, so I have sold the mustang, smart is up for sale and I have bought .......... a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT 6.1, ouch yes the fuel hurts (£100 = 230 miles) but the plan is to use the money from the smart to LPG it, just got fed up with taxing, insuring MOT 4 cars so fingers crossed I don't regret it
