Last Night someone attempted to steal my car. They failed however its still going to be an insurance job due to the crude methods used (I have a hole in my door) it looks like a local group possibly teenagers however the local police have told me at least 4 cars were broken into in a small area.

Please be extra vigilant as, as far as I know, they are still on the loose and who knows if they will do this again. Hopefully someone else can be spared this.

Thanks for the heads up!

We're they trying to steal things on display or the actual car? (very hard/impossible to steal car without keys nowadays)

Was it on your driveway?

Where abouts in Wokingham?

I'm in finchampsted so will keep an eye and ear out

Sorry to hear that Mike.....although if it is an agreed value policy like mine was, it could have been a blessing if they'd actually succeeded wink

Knowing Mikes domestic arrangements I'd say:-

The car (its a Lotus Carlton so 20 year old Vx locking arrangement probably deadlocked if they've punched a hole in the door. Sounds like they were trying to get to it to bypass it).
On the drive.
Just off the Reading Rd round the back of the Shell garage near the Woosehill roundabout.

Apparently the police said they eventually took a Nova that was local so maybe going after old Vxs as an 'easy' target.

A BMW was also stolen from Lower Wokingham Road in Crowthorne last week. The thieves stole it in the middle of the day and surrounded by people doing roadworks. Unbelievable cheek!

By the sounds of it though mate they are targeting older cars where they don't need the keys. So shouldn't be interested in the BMW

At least that's what I'm hoping

They may get into the Carlton but they haven't a chance of getting it started.

Same here, small world. Very sorry to hear as many's the time I've walked past the drive admiring the Carlton.

Hope it's an easy repair and the scrotes responsible meet a very painful end, preferably involving an angle grinder.

There was a silver Nova SR that appeared abandoned on Evendons Lane last week - came back later and it had the boys in blue parked up behind it so hopefully recovered in one piece.
