Not really something you are likely to miss if you drive past it, but looks to be enforced too judging by the the tall yellow structures with camera on.
I guess 6 months of traffic chaos will start imminently.

Yes, but it's for 6 months due to the roadworks. They are putting in a new road leading to the new Broadmoor.

Bugger - forgot that all started this week frown No more pedal to the floor climbing up the hill, and surprising a few other cars in my little 205 frown

I wonder whether the result of the r/bout will mean a permanent drop from NSL all along that stretch when it's all completed frown I guess 40 would be unlikely but based on other NSL roads round here, i'd guess it will drop to 50 all along that stretch including back towards Sandhurst, maybe?

My thoughts exactly.
Seen a little 205 darting about recently, I'll wave next time smile

I saw the cameras on my way home tonight, they went up very quickly - how likely is it that they are 'wired in', or not? I tried to look for cables as I drove past but couldn't really tell. Is it possible that they are not working? To me they just looked like a camera on a pole which was stuck into a big concrete block.

If they are SPECs (sounds like they are) look for thr IR red glow at night on the small boxes next to the cameras, will tell you if they have power or not.

Must admit it was a bit of a shock this evening, coming home on the bike, wasn't expecting the specs setup.

When did these go up? I dont recall seeing them Monday afternoon?
I may be expecting a letter in the post if they did.

Signs up saying the cameras are not active yet, but also some workmen installing something else at the bottom of the hill (Sandhurst end) this afternoon.

Sadly it wouldn't suprise me if it did stay at 40, they've done that on other roads in the area before. frown

Does anyone know why the new spur road to Broadmore isn't being linked to the roundabout at the bottom of the hill? Wouldn't that have been the sensible solution without breaking up the flow of traffic on Foresters Way?

I did think exactly the same.. All I can assume is that it's "Traffic calming by stealth! and they will see it as an opportunity to decrease the limit between the old roundabout at the bottom and the new one.... I also thought they could have put the roundabout away from the road if that makes sense and just had slip roads on and off, and just force people to go down the hill an extra 100 metres or so, but I guess thats too simple.

Might it be anything to do with the track that runs up the hill from that roundabout being a public footpath? Or that it's part of the Devils Highway Roman road? Don't know, just making guesses...

Heads up. New notices are now up saying there's going to be 24hr traffic lights in place from 29 May for 18 weeks! Allow more time for your journey.

Traffic lights are a pain in the arse, and IMHO not actually needed yet!
