Hello chaps just a quick one. I have been asked if I could gather a collection of cars for a village fete in Stoke Poges Bucks. the date is 8th June 2013. Timings would be something like 11.30 - 16.00. The plan will be for some to be parked up and some to give passenger rides.

So far I have a collection of TVR terrors bringing the noise now I need something a little be different and colourful

Usual fete stuff, BBQ's Beer tent, Bouncy castles, Live music through the afternoon evening.

For those that don't know Stoke Poges is near Slough (But its not Slough)
If you could spare a few hours I would love you to join me. The last time I tried something like this we had a fantastic response so touch wood we will have another good turnout.

It is Slough, just like Windsor. tongue out

I'd offer to pop over in the M5, but it's a boring silver saloon car that 99% of people ignore.

I know WHERE Stoke Poges is but where IN Stoke Poges, I assume not on the B416.
It will save me driving around like a lemon.

Hi Phil, how much are you charging for the rides? May be able to bring the Datsun but it has to be for a decent chunk of change per ride... I did a school fete a couple of years ago and burned the best part of a tank of Super (>£80) but they were only charging £5'ish; so they'd have been better off with me just paying them for the fuel I didn't use by not giving passenger rides! hehe

How long is the 'suggested' route? Any NSL or just local? Decent roads or pock-marked with holes and speed bumps?

Sorry to ask questions - I'm doing 4-5 charity ride or display events this year already and would be happy to do a local one, but need to know what's involved first. smile

Hi John I was going to charge £4.00 a ride. The route I have is approx 4 miles its basically a big square NSL roads and a 30. I wouldn't ask owners to spend all the time doing laps of the villages so I suggested having 5 cars going out every 20 mins odd. and the others to be parked up to be admired. If all things run to my plan all the cars will stop at around 15.30 so we can watch the Fury do its fly pasts. I will hopefully be getting some table and chairs and I will get a private BBQ going for the owners. (A lot of this is weather permitting)

Not giving wink I haven't set a price for passenger rides but John R has given me some top tips (oooeerrrr)

1 If you want to take people for a (paid) spin you are more than welcome too
2 or you can just be parked up on the grass/Tarmac all day
3 or you can do a bit of both

And the list has increased again

Hi Phil

I may not be able to make it till around 1pm so I think you will have to count me out of the passenger rides/display list frown

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
