Heads up however have reported this to police at about 06:20
Between Waitrose Roundabout and new one at Jeavons Park
Lane 1 has a missing / broken manhole cover (Highways Drainage not TWU)

Just before the new roundabout heading towards Reading

Hopefully lane has been closed off.

Thats a good responce
Went over it in 10 tonner but as it was centre of lane I missed it.
Would hate to think of the outcome if a bike or car went in it.
Supprised no one else noticed it.

Its looked like the cover had partially collapsed with one half down the hole.
Thameswater stopped using that grade of cover and frame years ago for the very reason this one has failed, not suitable for heavy traffic and use within highway.

Why it was not repaired during the day - who knows
Cant be that difficult to cut out and replace it with a heavy grade cover & frame.
Shall we run a book to see how long it takes to get fully repaired and reinstated.

My money is on three working days

Yeah like they only work about 3 hours a day so it could be 3 weeks.
Near every time I see a highways maintainance vehicle they tucked up in the cab
doing bugger all

It also seems they are re-surfacing the Lightwater / M3 Rounabout too
That taken 4 years to sort out......
