SGT Taplow and AlfaAid Maidenhead
Discussion
I popped over to the beloved SGT in Taplow this weekend only to discover that they are basically ramping down
The scooby marque is gone and the Alfa is going in the next few weeks. They are basically going to be a short-term 2nd hand car dealership!
They will retain the servicing part of the business and they are moving to a new location, very close-by. The site will then become a block of flats (about 80 or so).
But what is interesting is that one loss is anothers gain ....
For those of you who know Julian Milne (who was the Alfa sales manager there); well, he's off to AlfaAid in Maidenhead to setup their sales department!
So I guess I'll be popping down to AlfaAid next weekend.

The Subaru part is gone. It's now a 2nd hand dealership - whom I don't think are related to SGT in any way. Mostly stuff priced up to about £2k. I think they're called Annes Cars or somesuch. Highlight of their stock for me is a P plate 740.
I don't know about the Morgans. They only had 3 there (that I recall). So like everything else, looks like they're ramping it all down sadly.

Same thing with Morgan, the other Julian (Cutts) - the Morgan/Lotus Sales Manager is retiring and they will only service Morgan's in future. It's the end of an era!
That's a shame to hear.
SGT were a great set up for many years.
I remember going there with my dad, to order a brand new Scimitar GTE ( on a T reg)
Over the years they have had a few marques - Scimitar, Lotus, Suburu to name a few. What can you guys add to the list.
Also, the Dealer Principal had 2 very hot daughters, Rachel and Sarah...........

Also Morgan, Mitsubishi, and of course the aforementioned Alfa Romeo. I have passed the site regularly for many many years and always had a little look to see what interesting is on show. This will be an end of an era, and I have had a car from them as well (ironically not one of the above, but a used golf GTI). SGT were a great set up for many years.

I guess with Crossrail coming along will have made that plot extremely valuable (well I hope so, for the owners), but losing an interesting independent is always a blow to the local area.
