I was just wondering if anybody can recommend any pubs around the Guildford area, which are suitable/accommodating for pub meets and have a fairly large car park?

We usually meet at the Beefeater in Worplesdon, but they've become less and less accommodating over the last year or so and only want us to eat in the restaurant (not the bar area), so we are looking for a new place to meet. Any suggestions would be gratefully received! biggrin

The Surrey TVR lot meet at the The Black Swan,Ockham just off A3 southbound a few hundred yards from M25 junction 10. Really good place and great food! but then I would say that, my son chefs there!

Thanks for that, that looks like a really nice pub, and they have a massive car park by the looks of it too!

I have always thought that the Cyder House at Shackleford would make a good venue.
Reasonable car park but not as big as the Mucky Duck!!
Might be worth giving them a call.
They also take the Tastecard which usually gives you one meal free when you pre-book (for two people). Good menu

Black Swan is a good shout but gets really busy at peak times, hence service suffers a bit. Parking soon runs out too.

The Spotted Cow in Lower Bourne (Farnham) would be a good place for a meet as well. A little off the beaten track, but plenty of parking and some good roads to get to it as well.

Spotted cow would get my vote too. Great grub and a reasonable sized car park. However they have lots of locals and repeat custom so I'd imagine space would be at a premium. But so long as everyone eats I expect they won't mind!

Thanks for all the suggestions, very much appreciated!

Another thought is whether there are any cafes/diners around (similar to the Ace Cafe or something) instead, that would be good to try? Again, around the Guildford area smile

Afternoon Ian tongue out

If you fancy heading South a bit - look up the Parrot Inn - Forest Green. Been to a few classic meets there - there are multiple car parks, although they are only gravel, but fine if the weather's dry.

Proper pub too.

One I used to use on runs quite a lot is The Cedars at Binsted - owned by lovely people, and great food. Nice outdoor area for the summer too.

The Mill at Elstead is very scenic and has reasonable sized car park and overflow, would be good on a nice sunny day.

The Mill gets very busy on a sunny day - I've taken a few runs there. They do have big fields (well mown) adjacent to the car park though, so once the ground dries out that would be ideal.
