My mum has just been sent an Fixed penalty notice for doing 36 in a 30 zone. I can only imagine it's the camera as you head into Sunningdale from Virginia Water. Any one else been done there?

Funny thing is she's in her late 60's and probably the slowest driver I know, and this is the first points she has received in the 30 odd years shes been driving.

Odd that she didn't get offered a course.

She has and is considering it at the moment. I think she's a bit nervous about doing it.

They put vans in a few places - outside the Tigers Pad, on the opposite side of the level crossing and further down in the layby just past Chobham Road. So it could've been any of those as I understand there hasn't been a camera in the boxes for a while.

Same cost or a little bit more than a fine but no points.

Her insurance costs wont be affected by 3 points, especially to a 60 year old. It doesn't sound like she has a particularly high risk of amounting many more points so personally I'd say pay the fine, take the points and think noting more of it.

She might be slow but I followed a driver doing 40mph all along the same route. They got the scamera and didn't alter speed with the obvious result. 20mph under for most of the way meant 10mph over at the change of limit.

What a little earner that must have been over the years, only place I got done several years ago, 36 at 3.40am, did speed school, she'll be ok.

I got caught on the one near the train crossing probably 15-20 years ago ... well pissed off at the time!
