After the first couple of runs organised very well by EDAR, we discussed making a future run to one of the Goodwood Breakfast Club, this would be leaving probably from the Meadows at Camberley at around 6.15am and taking a fastish cross country route there and a scenic one back for those that want to group together on the way home (sunday drivers and traffic lights allowing). The Breakfast Club is free and only costs if you want Breakfast @ £10..... very nice it is too. Ample good parking to those cars on theme or of a sporting nature.

The Goodwood calender looks like this:-

Sushi Sunday (7 April 2013): A celebration of Japanese cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles.

Soft Top Sunday (5 May 2013): The best of top-down motoring in the Spring sunshine.

Super Car Sunday (2 June 2013): The ultimate high-performance machines – cars and bikes, with a nod to 50 years of McLaren and the Porsche 911.

Thoroughbred Sunday (4 August 2013): Pre-1966 vehicles, celebrating the golden era of Goodwood Motor Circuit, with a nod to 100 years of Aston Martin.

Italian Sunday (6 October 2013): Italy’s finest cars and motorcycles, with a nod to the 50th anniversary of the exciting Lamborghini marquee.

Personally I am not a great Japanese car lover (sorry guys), Soft Top Sunday grabs my vote - three to choose from in the stable, or Super Car Sunday.... does my TVR qualify as on theme?

Happy to be the lead car down and sort the route but EDAR if you would be so kind as to do the other behind the scenes work that would be great.

Who fancies what? Votes and names I guess, and I suppose we could do more than one! Might even be roadkill free!

Sounds like a great idea, there are some great roads on the way down to Goodwood and its always fun to spend the morning looking at interesting cars.

I've already signed up for the Super car Sunday, in the vain hope I could get my car on track but I'd be up for the other Sundays as well so count me in for April

Would say the only problem with the breakfast club is that it's a bit car specific. As it says in the first post, Japanese cars may not float everyone's boat... Whereas it certainly does mine, as I own one! So am planning on heading down there anyway. You can also register your car on the Goodwood website which some may be interested in doing.

Be mindful that doing this doesn't actually benefit you in any way.

It does if you're arriving in something interesting, I'd registered ahead of the Supercar one last Year and was contacted by Goodwood to ask to display my car on the grid

Sorry, I stand corrected. I guess it allows the Goodwood staff to pre-select some cars in advance rather than the act of registering actually guaranteeing one a place on grid. It's just that there are always the "moaning threads" on Pistonheads after every Breakfast Club with people complaining they didn't get their MX5/Caterham 7 on the grid despite registering and the marshalls allowing plenty of others in. I've usually been on the grid in stuff I've taken and never bothered to register but then I make sure it's either in keeping with the theme or rare.

Ooh, without wanting to create confusion. I had registered before I saw this thread and have been sent a 'ticket' for paddock parking. Personally I don't really give a hoot where I park though. The main thrust of my post was that for a drive out there are multiple options and the Breakfast club may not be an ideal, as it is specific in who drives what.

true to say Rich that i've been on the grid a number of times without registering and conversely put in the car park on the right when arriving in a themed car, seems it's all pretty variable but on the occasion when they asked me to display they did give me a name to mention so I was directed to the right era

OK so if you are "On Theme" you may get to put your car on the track parking spaces, like some say registering may help but does not always get you on there, the marshals can't always spot rare cars, exotic yes! I have the only K38 in the country...... park over there sir in the car park .......pardon!!!!!!!! points over to car park again!

Mind you the biggest gathering on the track I have seen was German car day 3 years ago..... over half the track was covered both sides!

Looks like a lot of Jap owners want to do this, so this looks to be the first run, sorry but a BMW/TVR will lead you!!!! It's all a bit of fun and a convoy with fellow car nuts.

BACK TO THE LIST:-
1. Robmarrs - May & June ...... although I could do Sushi Sunday in my Isuzu 7.5 tonne dropside!
2. Superchargedctr - Sushi Sunday (7 April 2013)
3. Matt Sketch - Sushi Sunday (+ others)
4. si sxi - May & June
5. onyx39 - May & June
6. KingR - Sushi Sunday
7. PearlwhiteGT86 -Sushi Sunday
8. GT500Nick - June - Supercar sunday

just copy and paste the list adding your preferences.
