Went there today and they've done a lot of work to the tracks, adding new ones and upgrading the existing ones. Lots of it is closed at the moment (both types) and most of the rest of the tracks are unpassable! It really is better suited to a 4x4. Runners and riders were both taking what was effectively the only routes they could. Most of the new/updated tracks are shut as they are waiting for the surfaces to settle/bed in. TBH I can't see many of the tracks becoming usable for at least a month if not longer.

Anyway, a few photos...

I have not been over there since November last year when it was too wet to ride at any kind of decent speed - so I gave up and headed out on a few local bridleways instead.

I almost went over today to take a look at the new trails but ran out of time after fighting with a stack of Ikea furniture, looking at your piccies I am glad I stayed at home!

I've not been this year, but generally go over the back towards Bagshot for the downhill tracks. I dont get to do much cross country stuff as my bikes bloody heavy and prefers going down hills rather than up them.

Blimey! That looks like an excuse to head to the pub early if ever I saw one!

I went over on Saturday and didn't see any mud like that smile

We go in from the A30 side where the down hill stuff is.

Some major work going on over by the cutting, anyone know what they are doing? looks a bit like a fire brake.

Yep, if any of you had a permit to be riding there (needed for Horses) you would know it is the Regular "Crown Estate Irregular Firebreak Creation and Lumber Selling Operation". It happens whenever they want and sometimes even seems to follow a plan.D

What I really hate about the lookout is when I take the dogs there, they have a great big poo that they are justifiably proud of and some bloody mountain biker rides through it and complains.... wink

I have ridden round the pirbright area but doesn't offer as good riding as swinley for me, pirbrights fine if you wont to go xcountry and go for a ride but there's nothing exiting (that i've found anyway)

I go into swinley via the american golf shop, then ride through to the "labyrinth"
