Can anyone recommend a supplier and installer of double/triple glazed windows.

There seems to be a huge spread in prices!

I used Academy Windows late last year for a new front door & they're going to be sorting the replacement windows later this year as well.

www.academywindows.co.uk

Found them great to deal with, decent prices, quick supply & the guys who did the fitting got on with the job without fannying around like the ones from Everest did with on of my neighbours the year before last. Also the sales guy @ Academy i dealt with didn't try to push you into things you didn't want, unlike the guy from Amazon who was desperate to try to sell me a 1/2 price conservatory i had no need for banghead

I used B + H Windows to do a door and four windows, great quality, fitted in a couple of weeks iirc, no stupid 80% off massively inflated prices or pressure selling. Highly recommended.

Basically, give Roy a call (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?h=0&memberId=40940&t=1148016&f=207&mid=36375 )

You wont be disappointed..

@ £1300 I think all in. (it is a multi-lock resin door, not UPVC)

That looks like good value unless the four windows were in the door!

Two beside the door and two additional ones in downstairs loo and bathroom. The door was 50% of the cost approx.

Roy (fellow PH'er) is providing a quote today.

I will speak to the other recommendations if required.

Thanks

We are about to have 3 windows and a balcony door done on a second floor flat by Lafford & Leavy. Install is date is tbc but expect in next couple of weeks. Placed order at Christmas. Windows are coming in around £1500. Door the same again!! That was a stinger. Price includes plastering/ making good to internal window reveals. I'll update the thread to let you know how we get on.

We went to Academy for a quote but weren't too impressed with the salesman. L&L came in a little cheaper and my GF got on much better with the salesman (I wasn't present so cannot comment really!).
