On my way to work this morning I saw 3 seperate incidents. 2 of them on the same stretch of road.
First was on Sheerlands Road in Arborfield Garrison which was a sheet of ice. There was a dark silver S2000 which looked like it had spun into a tree. I hope the driver was ok - it looked like the biggest impact was on the drivers side around the rear axle. There was another car (I can't remember what it was) just a bit further down the road that had also slid off the road into the trees and looked very sorry for itself.

Then, further on in my journey there was a car (again not sure what - hatchback) on it's roof in the road in Beech Hill.

The roads were mostly just wet but there were ice patches in random places. I hope everyone on here got to work without any problems!

The roads around Chobham were lethal this morning. Chobham Road was closed at the junction of Barr's lane and there was an accident in Philpott Lane too. Proper black ice.

Had to change my trousers when I got to the office but apart from that, no harm done.
In all seriousness tho, caught me completely by surprise as I'd travelled c.20miles on roads that were just damp so to hit a patch of ice on a bend was a butt clenching moment.

Er indoors dropped my daughter off in Woking quite early
Found that road very slippery in places
I checked car (X5) when she got back at 7am because the lights lit up on dash like a christmas tree and found strong smell & traces of diesel fuel in wheel arches.
The roads here did not seem cold enough for ice, but spilt fuel will give you a fun situation on a damp road.

Diesel is slippery but it won't cause both rear wheels to spin up on a straight road at 25 miles an hour on a steady throttle.

It wasn't super cold but it was wet with a bitter wind. That's when black ice appears in my experience.

Weirdly I didn't find any (unless it was the winter tyres doing their job), but I did see two cars in ditches/up sides of roads in the strangest places.

I wondered how on earth they had got there (one in the back roads around Chobham, and one towards the back of Chertsey) but maybe it was ice?

Around 8.15/8.30 this morning.

It was definitely ice for me. The weather was a bit weird in that there were patches of sheet ice but only in patches, most of the way it was just wet.

I noticed a weird thing when I set off in the morning. The whole car was wet but no ice. When I started it up I used the wipers on the front & rear screens with no problem. As soon as I started moving the water on the roof ran down the rear screen and froze as soon as it touched it. I can't explain that one.

Went by the same place I nearly had my incident yesterday and noticed someone/thing had destroyed the garden fence so appears they weren't so lucky?
