Anybody live in Dettingen or know much about it?

We are trying to move house - currently in West End and love it, but the guy whose house we are buying is being a c*ck and after 3 months waiting it looks like we're going to lose it.
Not many houses come up in West End (4 bed detached with double garage), and so we're widening our search.
Dettingen seems reasonably priced, and although I've always felt it was soulless, I've never really been in there or know much about it. But for less money than a 4 bed detached, we could get a 5 bed detached with double garage and gated double driveway in Dettingen !!!!
Is there anything in walking distance - especially a pub or something !?
Failing that, can anybody suggest anywhere else? Don't really want to go to J4 of the M3, purely from a traffic perspective... Ideally walking distance of a pub and a shop, quiet (no childrens play areas), and preferably away from main roads etc.
Any suggestions appreciated as we're in a hurry now, with a chain below us and a mortgage offer to consider!

I had an offer on a place I own in West End
5 bed, 3 main rooms, large kitchen/diner, fully fitted office / study. boot room / store. lots of other rooms & passage ways.
Fair size garden, large summerhouse Double Garage & workshop with 3ph power
After all the dicking about the bloke decided it was too big (more like out of his range)so withdrew it from market as lost the one I was after.
West End is good, easy access for schools etc and a decent proper pub.
(Not that overpriced place with a miserable
of a landlady)
Close to Gordons adds a fair bit to the price tag.
Seem to be plenty up for sale, have you tried all the agents ?

yours sounds perfect - still want to sell!? There's nothing available at the moment - other than vickers the agents are useless and just tell me to check right move, but the only things on there are too small or too big and there aren't many.
Would love to stay in west end - walking distance to the pub, shops, docs etc. close to work, good for e motorway and my best mate moved here last year, but just nothing on the market unless I am missing something?

Btw we should have a mini keet sometime in the hounds - we are in there reasonably often! The Inn is nice for a meal out but not for a burger and a pint!I had an offer on a place I own in West End
