I see that they're proposing to open a Waitrose on part of the Notcutt's site .. I wonder whether that was planned in addition to the houses, or if they decided not to build any more?

My understanding is that it will sit alongside a newly rebuilt / redeveloped Notcutts, so still be plenty of housing all around it:

Seems silly putting a waitrose there as there's one down the road in sunningdale?

A new co op has opened in chobham where the hot tub place use to be and tescos i believe is opening at the end of the month which is just up the road from the total garage.

Tescos keep trying to put a store in lightwater but it keeps getting rejected.

That's still quite a distance away, the Frimley one would have been a better choice smile

If she went another 150 yards, she would happen upon Waitrose Sandhurst. Due to its proximity to Tesco hell and M&S it is rarely busy, easy parking, and a better class of customer smile

A Tesco with a Butchers in Ascot next to the racetrack would save them lugging the dead ones
too far.

It's a slippery slope to high-quality food being available everywhere.

you'll soon be able to walk from Staines to Farnham, without ever leaving Waitrose

The reason Tesco's is at The Meadows, is that it keeps the riff-raff out of Waitrose

I so hope Tesco never get permission, Duffy's Budgens is all the village and Windlesham need.
Good quality produce at very good prices and gives the area a community feel.

I stayed for just a couple of weeks near a Tesco Metro in what was a lovely village and although their lorries were prevented from delivering between certain hours it didn't stop them arriving, getting into position with beeps etc at stupid o clock of a morning esp weekends and then stitting waiting until they were allowed to deliver.
