Attempted Garage Break-In - Fleet Area
Discussion
Afternoon all
I've had a change of user name so for those who knew me as R400PM this is my new one, for those who don't know me hello
!
Just a quick heads up for those in the Fleet area. I had the unfortunate discovery yesterday evening on my return from work that someone had tried to break into the garage. Fortunately they must have been disturbed (other than mentally) as they only managed to bend the lock on one of the doors and leave crowbar 'jimmy' marks down the brickwork to either side of both the doors. Needless to say I was less than happy!
All was reported to the exceptionally helpful Hampshire Constubulary who popped in late last night to see what the score was. I'd already mentioned to the non-emergencies control centre that I doubted that there was anything they could do but they seemed more than happy to make sure that the property was all secure. In addition they have also gone off to speak to the neighbours to see if anyone had seen or heard anything (thumbs up to them for the regular updates too).
I do hope that this was just some chancers seeing what they could find rather than the organsied (not so much in this case) lot that go out to snaffle peoples pride and joys!
Needless to say, the CCTV is being installed to act as a deterrent if nothing else.
Anyway, thought I'd just let the locals know and hopefully I'll be out hooning again shortly!
Cheers

Blimey, crime in Fleet?!
Where abouts in Fleet are you out of interest? I had my car done twice when I lived in Elvetham Heath, now live up near Church Crookham and in 3 years not had a sniff of trouble - not even heard of any.
Praying that isn't tempting fate......
I know, crime and Fleet don't really come into the same sentence!Where abouts in Fleet are you out of interest? I had my car done twice when I lived in Elvetham Heath, now live up near Church Crookham and in 3 years not had a sniff of trouble - not even heard of any.

I'm not too far from Elvetham, just the Fleet side of the double railway bridge. I think sometimes it takes a little warning like this to make you realise things can be taken quite quickly, everything in the garage is chained to something else now!
